HEMA/TPO-Free Formula FAQs
FORMULA TRANSITION
We are gradually phasing in HEMA-free and TPO-free formulas across the gel line. Because this is a running change, some shades and batches already have the updated formula while others will transition as inventory cycles through.
No, this update is part of our ongoing formula evolution and reflects broader industry trends and ingredient preferences, particularly for those who prefer HEMA-free and TPO-free systems.
Most shades in the Salt & Serenity collection are part of our updated HEMA-free and TPO-free formula line. These formulas were developed to maintain the professional performance LUXA is known for while offering a more allergen-conscious option.
Seaglass is TPO-free but not HEMA-free.
The unique pearlescent pigment used in Seaglass is not compatible with our HEMA-free base, which can affect pigment stability and overall performance. To maintain the intended shimmer, color accuracy, and wear, Seaglass remains in our original formula.
Yes. Seaglass is formulated to the same professional standards as all LUXA gels and remains safe for professional use when applied according to proper gel application practices.
If we are able to develop a HEMA-free version that maintains the same pigment stability and performance, we will absolutely transition the shade. Until then, the current formula ensures the best quality result.
Yes. All new 2026 collections are launching HEMA-free and TPO-free whenever the formula allows for proper pigment stability and performance.
EXISTING PRODUCTS
Yes, the original formulas are professional-grade and safe when used as directed. The shift toward HEMA-free and TPO-free options is part of our commitment to continue evolving the line while maintaining professional performance.
No, you can continue using your current gels as normal and transition into the updated formulas as you restock. The change is designed to be gradual so you don’t need to replace your full collection at once.
PERFORMANCE & COMPATIBILITY
The updated formulas are designed to match the original color, opacity, and performance as closely as possible, so your application process and results should feel familiar.
If you ever notice something that doesn’t feel right with a specific shade (cure, leveling, or coverage), please reach out with the shade name and batch number (four digit number on the bottom label), and we’ll be happy to help troubleshoot.
Yes. The new formula is designed to be as close as possible in performance and application to the old formula.
If you notice any inconsistencies, please reach out to our team so that we can help troubleshoot!
ORDERS & COLLECTIONS
During this transition period, collections and larger orders may contain a mix of original and updated formulas, depending on which shades have transitioned to the new formula.
Our Complete Collection and Collection Sets always reflect the current stock for each gel color.
Not yet. Because the transition is still in progress, not every shade has converted yet, so orders may still include a mix of formulas.
We’re not running a swap program for legacy bottles, since the existing formulas remain professional‑grade and usable as directed.
WEBSITE INFORMATION
Because the transition is still underway and inventory is mixed, product pages haven’t been updated yet. Once a larger portion of the line has converted, website labeling will be updated for consistency and clarity.
